Olwin - brilliant! Love it and it made me laugh; you don't often see sonnets posted in the funny section!
Honesty? Here goes: Syllables - spot on. Iambic pentameter - close and spot on throughout the majority of this piece; but Christ, it's a bugger :)

Sorry I couldn't give you a prompt earlier - I had a rather disagreeable stomach - but you have done fine on your own!

    Take care

Olwin this really made me smile like a Cheshire cate because Ben is the sonnet master (my nickname) and because oi did a good job at a sonnet which are rarely found in this humour section.

    Take care, Em

    Olson,

Ben is right iambic pentameter is a bugger. I was reading a few examples of mine from years back. Your sonnet is hands down much better than my efforts.

Well done, keep attempting them and one day you'll write a winner. Having said that Ben still needs to win with a sonnet. Lol

    Take care,

    Michael

Ms. Dreamofolwin: Not only did you master the Sonnet form, you mastered the funny category and that is no easy task... first time I have read a funny sonnet and giggled from start to finish! This was a wonderful read!
