Dagmar, another powerful write from you so elegantly done as always.

I like the title 'a silent storm' because it represents how you are feeling so no doubt how the poem will be full of emotion. The word silent gives it a bit more of a kick because those kinds of storms are worse.

    It's a sadness so intense
a loneliness deep insight the heart,
    you can't see it coming.
    ^^
This opening stanza is very powerful and yes when the storm inside of us comes thats how it feels. Pent up anger, depression and anxiety all feel like a silent storm and as I said they are the worst kind.

How do you fix what's broken inside
by judging the mood I am in,
it's like a storm without any fair warning
    ripping your days apart.
    ^^
You cannot fix what's broken inside unless you want to fix it as I feel once we are broken no-one can fix us but ourselves because we won't allow them too especially when we've been broken a long time and yes, when the silent storm comes it feels like it rips us apart limb by limb.

    All the best.
Here if you need to talk, Em

    Hello Dagmar

I relate this piece back to depression which is indeed a silent storm and really can feel like it's pulling you apart.
I particularly like the reference to it being unfair, or not giving 'fair warning'. How very true. It doesn't always seem to have a reason which makes it all the harder to bear; you can, on bad days, simply wake up and feel like this, entirely out of the blue.

    All the best, Dagmar,
    Ben

Dagmar, outstanding write! It's so difficult when someone else is trying to figure you out or thinks they know you that well- no-one really knows the sadness we carry -take care-Brenda

    Hello Dagmar,

I like poems that use the silence to emphasis the noise. Like a bitter sweet moment, or being blind to what is clearly in view.

Loneliness holds a silence that is deeply etched with sadness. Humans are social creatures and even if we bravely say, I am happy alone, we don't really mean this. What we mean is: I am happier alone than risking my heart being broken again. Trust at its best allows us to be free with ourselves, whereas broken trust makes us fear with each step we take.
    ^
This loneliness can create, and this is what I think your poem depicts, a bitterness that is like a boiling pot with lid on, hiding the pent up pain. So if a person unknowingly comes by its like a jack-in-the-box - the lonely pain jumps out and scares the hell out of them - BOO!

The simile of a storm is apt as they can cloud the brightest day in a blink and take the sunshine away and replace it with a storm.

Well done Dagmar, a well written write.

    Take care,

    Michael
