Plant Life

by stormingdance (Lessa)   Aug 16, 2016

This life, 'neath the ground
Struggles with the desire to live.
Sprouting roots all 'round,
Water, the earth, to it, will give.

Pushing, struggling, in growth, to advance
Against its own version of the sky
Reaching for the true, vast expanse
And into the blue, this life will fly.

This life, 'neath the ground
Pushes up past its barrier.
Roots, for water, it reaches 'round
Touching this liquid, its life, is merrier.

Full grown, now it's time for more,
Time to spread offspring,
Let them learn how to soar,
And into life, they'll also fling.
