Foolish Thinking

by Lunura   Nov 13, 2016

It was in those magical nights
In those odd and rare occasions,
Where you would hold me in your eyes.
Look inside and read me.
That I fell into the depths of love with you.

A simple nod a simple gesture.
You seemed to know exactly what my thoughts were.
Like looking in a reflection,
I could see it too, see myself in you.
No need for questions.
No need for words.
Simply put, we were what we needed.

Choosing to hide behind masks...
Myself in silence letting only my eyes deceive me.
You in anger letting only the jealousy deceive you..
Masks saved only for those weak moments.
Moments meant to be our love.

The tears of pain,
The silent screams of hope
That we would see the love and grasp it.
Instead, the love was lost.
In the bed that only we once shared.
Tainted with the touch of another...
Forced into the reality, I let go.
Falling into the darkness, drowning in tears.
Feeling the draw of only one card.
The fool that fell in love with you.

... too late to change the deck, this fool awaits her turn.. to draw a heart, and to the King be his Queen.

This is an excellent and descriptive first post that manages to stay tight to the story you are trying to convey and is written very well.

    Well done,
