    Andrea,

There seems to be a lot of 'death' poetry around. This is not a complaint though, more an observation. Your poem about the final farewell, the funeral. Many people fail to make their wishes explicit. Maybe they were not fussed, or maybe they were not listened to. It seems this telling is the latter. I can only imagine how painful it must be to attend such a funeral, watching the ceremony play out in a way the deceased would not approve.

The way you finish this poem sums up the resulting emotion.

Andrea, so sad but beautiful in such an aching way.I loved this in challenge and it's story is so relatable to anyone who has dealt with loss. It brings out so many emotions which you hit on many different levels of relationships and the dynamics involved. Well done-

Well, thank you, Andrea, you have taken the remnants of my inner happiness, twisted, pulled and torn them asunder! However, you have done so with some wonderful writing so - this time - I forgive you...

All the best and well done,

    Ben
