    Shanky,

It really must be love if we are happy to continue with it and not expect to have the feeling returned. But if someone is unable to give you back what you feel for them, sometimes it's because they have been hurt before - then patience and perseverance are the answer.

    All the best,

    Ben

      Ben. Thanks.
True that is, many do not love back or are afraid to due to a hurtful experience. what if we could just love them without expectations ...wouldn't they grow into the love around, healing their broken hearts and giving them a chance to love, be happy and live joyously?

Shanky this is a beautiful little piece about love and how far love can go as to not want a thing in return but I have done that, loved somebody so much as to not want s thing in return and it stings when realisation sets in.

    So I love you,
deep down you know it's true.
    ^
A lovely little opening, with a nice unforced rhyme.

    Away you hide,
    afraid of hurt.
    ^
Sometimes it is best to hide how we truly feel especially when we are hurting because it saves us from more hurt.

You wish I take it back
so you not obligated to say it too.
    ^
I like this because when we say 'i love you' it's so easy to say it back even if it's not meant, one of the most used phrases. I think it would be better if you place 'could' before take and the you should be you're.

    Yes I love you,
without expecting to have it back.
    ^
Now, here we have it the strength of your love.

If I can learn to love myself the way I love others,
my life would be full of love.
    ^
Yes, to love yourself is the best gift of all.

    Next time I say
    I love you,
it will still mean the same.
    ^
    Great ending.
Nice to see a new write from you.

Thank You Em. It was just a feeling that everyone is expected to love back, what would happen if everyone was to love without expecting love back?
wouldn't the circle of love be complete ir rather the ice pattern of love reach a sealing point. where everyone loves and is loved without the need to know...?

Love is mercy demonstrated. All it takes to live is mercy. Truly captured imagery here. Thank you really, for sharing this.

Gel, We all have that idea of love, and the translation seem to be lost through generation,

we all should remember what keeps us bound to one another.

      Thank you.
