    outsiders become insiders with glee

    ^^

    I love this line, Larry.

You have, in this poem, created a piece of art that incorporates politics, pride and rhyme! How could I possibly not like it?

    All the very best,

    Ben

An inspiring poem Larry. I feel flushed with pride just reading it! I loved your lines used here,
' Old Glory is smartly marched down the aisle' and others. Makes me easily visualise the soldiers marching inside the Church. Lots of imagery there. A good write.

Thanks, Peter. Interestingly the flag that inspired it was carried by High School ROTC students inside a livestock auction show. The lowing of steers, snorting of hogs and bahing of lambs & goats seemed to make the moment eternal.

Spoken by a person who is very proud of their country. I particularly liked this line..

it matters little who keeps warm the seat,

Just the right dose of sarcasm I felt :)

Thanks Hellon, although the line I intended to drip with sarcasm was "nation rumbles on through reign and tweet"
