This made me sad at the end. Like... I felt I'm the one with my heart left broken, if that makes any sense lol

Love the imagery and the way your words just flowed together. Lovely

I totally understand what you mean- I've been there with others people work as well and it's such an interesting thing. It's exciting to me that this could evoke that emotion. Thanks for commenting on it, definitely made my day.

your words were in a perfect array to make this poem feel like the smoke, fragile and fleeting. the line breaks, vocabulary and general structure are all outstanding.

    Judging Comment:

The movement in this piece was wonderfully portrayed. It felt as though I read this in the time it took me to take a deep breath and I felt both lighter and heavier for having done so. The comparisons of this person's love of whatever kind to a cigarette were incredible because even though comparing love or lovers to anything you are dependent on is becoming overdone, it still had personality and a uniqueness to it that allowed for this piece to stick with me even after I had read it and the other pieces nominated this week.

Bluejay, thank you for this comment. The first time I read it upon winning made me feel so wonderful as it still does several months later. I really appreciate you taking the time to break down how you feel about it. Thanks again. (:
