Mighty

by Lyical Madness   Apr 30, 2017

I am here
Trapped behind the glass walls
Of your frozen emotions
Ice cold from your disappointment
Your distain
Your innate lack of understanding
Or willingness to try
Breathing yet drowning alive
Body wanting but not willing
Tears dance upon the periphery
Yet I don't owe you them
You never earned them
You never deserved them
Yet countless drops of sorrow fell from these lids
They fell into the nothingness
But appealed to your desire to totally consume me
Foolish youthfulness
Distorting the truth
Whimsical idealism
Lost upon the winds of change
Music guiding me through
Dancing providing release
As I look upon my reflection
Finger smeared mirrors
Oh & how I try not to hate what I see
That person I became
In your presence
& who I love who I have returned to now
I am again at home
Even though comfort has taken time
No longer do I see
The silent screams
Penetrating through my eyes into my soul
I have become me
It has been a long time
Since I was here
Since I reminded myself
That pain can provide
Some of the greatest seeds of growth
That the smallest seed
Can produce the mightiest of Oaks

Beautifully written. Seeds of strength and what they may produce, with tender nurturing.
