The Swing

by SERA   Feb 14, 2018

Faithfully,
My open palms await your return,
Absorbing familiar impact,
Draining as you launch forward.

Buoyantly you rise,
The air swims with chance,
Unbridled you glide through it,
The sun shines through your closed eyelids.

Stood behind,
sheltered by the shade you cast,
Our shadows weigh heavy on my shoulders,
Depleted I save my strength for your return.

Facing forward,
You decline.

Backwards,
My trusted hands await.
Watching as you soar away.

This is great Sera! I can picture the scene perfectly as it's written. But the underlying 'swing' I feel is written more about a 'see-saw ' relationship? Either way, it's a fab write! :-) x
