Alone Child

by Derrain de Silva   May 7, 2018

Into this world I was born
With no sisters or brothers to call my own
No one to share with, fight with, or to blame
Just me, myself, it's such a shame

Into this world I was born
With no sisters or brothers to call my own
Then one day you came along
And turned my world upside down

Into this world I was born
With no sisters or brothers to call my own
After an entire year by my side
You broke my heart and left me to die

Into this world I was born
With no sisters or brothers to call my own
Two years had passed and you had moved on
Me, I was still hurt, broken and barely holding on

Into this world I was born
With no sisters or brothers to call my own
Finally, a pretty young lady approached me
Said she loves me, and by my side promised to be

Into this world I was born
With no sisters or brothers to call my own
The one and only I know she'll be
In my life for eternity
