A Tight Leash

by Muhammad Amiruddeen   Nov 12, 2018

Rare and very elusive
Like feeling the air between your finger
Slipping away like forgotten thoughts
The more you try to remember, the more you are lost in the trance
A wandering ordeals of chasing shadows in the dark
But the aimless chase is the wonderers quest
Like An outskirt maiden voyage to virgin lands

Uncertainty and a candid doubt welcomes my every step
Praying for the slightest signs becomes all I sought
False hopes and misguided readings gave me the rest I need
Thus it began, the storyline of my life
It tells journey of my restless soul in search.

It started long before my first cry
An Onset at my very core, a craving too mighty to suppress even if I tried
So I let it to reign free, though it's out of my control
Freewill is a foreign concept for those tied by destiny
So I stayed on course, to escape the fury of fate
A captain must follow where the tide is high.

The sage in me tells me words I go by
That man is beast manned by his emotions
Kept in line on a tight leash
Hold by the things he loves
For is not a feeling but a servitude of a sort.
