For me this is a unique and visually uplifting piece. The first two stanzas were captivating and intriguing and could have taken the reader in a choice of directions either one which would have worked. The third and fourth stanza clarify and take the crucial stance that fire cleanses even if it destroys. Which leads nicely into the final stanzas 'the reveal' that sometimes it is necessary to burn away the facades that hide away the inner truth and strength within.

So often people surround themselves with beliefs that are comfortable yet they can quickly become a prison that defines who they are. Sometimes it takes the catalyst of someone else coming into their lives in order to light the fire that burns down the wooded enclosures that have grown up and hidden the true self inside.
