Faulty Showers

by Walter   Jun 16, 2019

My wife was having a shower
And then I heard a scream
She normally takes an hour
But this one was cut midstream

I ran over quick to assist
Heard every swear word I know
I still couldn't get the gist
Until I saw her point to her toe

And then I could see the tile
That fell right on her toe off the wall
No wonder she's talking so vile
This is why it was red and so sore

I gave her a towel to dry
And on one foot she's staring at me
I thought she was going to cry
As this wasn't going to be easy

Of course I offered to assist
And she just gives me that look
But I knew she couldn't resist
So little persuasion it took

I then carried her off to bed
Our en-suite so not far to walk
I had to listen to all that she said
Can't believe how much she can talk

"I want you to find someone now
Who will be able to fix that tile
I really don't care who or how
As long as it doesn't take a while"

I told her it would be all alright
In our home we have two bathrooms
And this I can fix outright
Of course this is what I presumed

She gave me that look again
But I convinced her not to worry
I told her right away I'll begin
It wasn't long before I was sorry

All the tiles had become loose
In the end I had to replace them all
I knew complaining was no use
As this would lead to my downfall

But I managed to get them all done
Though one day had now turn to three
Then the look she gave me was stunned
Like she never believed in me

So I was obviously proud
And she's so happy I finished my quest
But surprised me when said out loud
"Tonight we'll put it through a test"

Walter, this is a great story. I'm glad your D.I.Y skills were equal to the task in hand, I just hope your joint skills at 'assessing' were just as accomplished.

Thank you Mr. Darcy and all I can say is that my 'assessing' skills might have been a little distracted at the time with all the commotion going around!
