Touched (Sonnet)

by Walter   Sep 21, 2019

The fire that was lit so long ago
From when I first saw the spark in your eyes
I still see it burning the way you glow
As all the flames in your heart multiply

Your warmth radiates whenever you're near
Felt instantly from the moment we touch
No place I'd rather be than with you here
No one else I would ever love as much

When silent somehow we say even more
Always able to read each other's minds
Our eyes hold the answers we're looking for
And all our questions are never declined

No distance could ever keep us apart
Your flames have long lit and live in my heart
