So much said in a small piece. Resonates on many levels. Nicely penned, M :)

This resonated so much with me, and I'm sure many can relate. It makes me think, why am I going back there? Is it really healthy, am I returning to a past me instead of moving forward? I attribute it to regrets, possibly loneliness or wanting to fix the outcome. Wanting to return and rebuild what was toxic and not as good as my mind made it out to be.

Sometimes, we have to re-evaluate and trust what's ahead. And the new paths we will pave.

    Love this.

One of my favorite historical events is Cortez burning his ships when he and his army arrived on the shores of what is now Mexico. He was a ruthless murderer, but he was determined that by cutting off the way home his men would have no choice but to go forward.

On the other hand, this poem was inspired by a very dysfunctional young lady I know who destroys relationships through betrayal and then desperately spends months rebuilding them, only to sabotage the results.
