Inspired by the
Survival instinct
A poem with both,
Fixed, and free verse
A tribute to
Mother Nature

Deep under the earth
On a hot summer day,
A serpent is teaching
The youngsters

Under the surface down here
Is our safe sweet home
In these burrows we sow fear
But once above the loam
You must watch the sky clear
When for food you will roam

High above the rocks
Rises an nest where,
An eagle is teaching
The youngsters

We call home, the vast skies
We ride the lofty air
When you lock within your eyes
A snake, or a hare
Beware where your shadow lies
Kill, do not scare

Thank you Star. I'm glad it reminds you of the circle of life. Because it is closely related. Thank you so much for your comment. I wish i can add pics to this website. I've don two three pics for this poem. Which deliver more sharply the message of the tribute. Thank you again. Much appreciated.
