More Than A Feeling

I am just a word
But I need to be felt
I hold many meanings
And so often they are dealt

Sometimes you can't see me
And I exist just in your heart
As only this will sense me
When we are apart

Although when you're close by
The meaning stronger still
It is now the whole body
Which will sense this thrill

First with just fingers
The warmth felt skin to skin
Now hearts are beating loudly
And also felt within

Lips soon find each other
For this you yearn so much
A sense that we all long for
The word I am is touch

Yes I'm one of five senses
And can sense while we're apart
While close I'll touch your body
And while far I'll touch your heart
