Hallows Eve is Upon Us

by Saul   Sep 24, 2020

The coolness of the air penetrates the dirt
It descends deep down into the depths of the earth

Its coldness reaches a rotten old wooden tomb
It fills up the chamber of the decaying womb

The cold stirs the corpse and it lets out a loud yell
Its rank breath filling the air with its ghastly smell

It breaks free of its dark eternal resting spot
Making its way to the surface of the old plot

It pulls itself from the hole of the cold dank ground
Looking about to see if anyone’s around

The delicious autumn air fills its rotting nose
And the dampness of the ground wets its old bare toes

It needs to feed its desiccated weak husk
Hunting will be easy with the cover of dusk

In the distance, Far from the unhallowed ground
It hears the commotions of a neighboring town

As the laughter of children are heard it now sees,
It awoke to feed because it is Hallows Eve
