A Heartbeat At Arles

A Heartbeat At Arles

I remember those streets
The night was growing thin
I heard your heartbeats
I felt your blazing skin
We sat at that terrace
We both did fight and win

You held my hand in fear
You spoke with so much pain
When tomorrow is right here
And sun is out again
Will you still call me dear?
Will you still love me then ?

That night, that gorgeous blue
Those lights, of divinity
The skies, they looked so new
Your eyes, were sanity
I lay there. I lay with you
And we mocked our vanity

You asked me with a tear
That your heart did drain
When tomorrow is right here
And sun is out again
Will you still call me dear?
Will you still love me then ?

Then after the night grew ill
And we quenched our thirst
A breaking light did spill
That dawn was our first
I watched your sleep until
You woke up at will

You saw me still near
You looked at me with sheer
Tomorrow is right here
And sun is out again
Was still calling you dear
Was still loving you then
