If I Was...

by Walter   Nov 3, 2020

If I was your pen I'd write all your words
So boldly and flowing where each one is heard
I'd secretly inscribe and send you a sign
My message of love read between all the lines

If I was your fire you'd never be cold
Though my love would burn hot it's always controlled
Tempted with passion my flames would not rage
For you I'd just flicker to the warmth on your gauge

If I was your sun I'd brighten your day
And I'd wake you so gently with a single ray
Your life I would light the brightest at noon
And even at night I'd reflect off the moon

If I was your river my water would flow
Through the valleys I'd follow where ever you go
To the place where you settle and a home that you make
And my rapids I'd calm for you a serene lake

If I was your soil your garden would thrive
And all seeds that you plant I'd keep each alive
Whenever you walk and tread on the ground
I would provide you a path to wherever you're bound

If I was your lover I would do this and more
Anything for the woman I truly adore
Because you give me so much just being by my side
And just for you there's nothing I wouldn't provide
