A Summer Moon - Sonnet

by Walter   Nov 30, 2020

The way she smiles is the reason I look
She's beautiful and I cannot resist
When her eyes caught mine was all that it took
My heart finally knows why it exists

We met in the night under a full moon
With its soft light reflecting from her skin
It was not long before she made me swoon
And the desire for our love to begin

But our moment was brief she had to leave
And we both cursed the paths which we would take
Because never again would we perceive
With our yearning and the love we would make

Brief our time frozen but not for desire
With all emotions true love would require
