The things we, us men do! I remember learning from a book. It taught me the fundamentals, but you can't beat just giving them a go. I'm still learning, but hopefully I'm inching closer.
Your poem here looks like a non iambic, rhyming one. Some lines have 11 syllables and the rhyme is creative, using the same letters/ vowels (skill/is and help/self) I like this. Well done.

    Take care.

Yeah, that’s why I refrained from titling a sonnet. I’m experimenting with iambic. I mean, after all, iambic is “natural” to English. So it can have the strong sound like Ben sonnets usually have or not hehe. Also, I’m experimenting with writing poetry prose rather than verse per se. I don’t know if that makes sense.

I can also do this with the poem:

Today, I read a forum in Reddit about a guy who kindly asked for help on how to write a sonnet with merit because he basically just put himself in the position where he must write one despite not knowing what a sonnet is. Right after I told him how it is done, he then begin to use his rhyming skills without regard to meter whatsoever. I only told him that that was a start but that he needed to then make it better. I wonder now if he fulfilled his part? I mean, why wouldn’t he? just understand that if he doesn’t do, he will be damned.
