Are You There

by Satish Verma   Jan 7, 2021

The wheels.
I decide to abandon?
the home.

*

The pain of darkness
returns. Wax
drips from a taper.

*

A sickle moon?
stirs,
my religion.

*

Deep anguish,
after the taste of
your own blood.

The wheel being a symbolism of Earth - and the questioning of leaving your home. The way I interpret this is you're lonely and feeling like you're foreign/alien - like you don't belong so therefore you are lonely. It's as though you've written four poems and made them one - they're disconnected unless you look further into it - the way I see it - you seek to find peace in your religion - did you find it? Are you there?
