Nicely written. I like how each line is it's own separate thought that you need to ponder on. Had me asking myself about each one, which is a brilliant way to get the reader involved.

In regard to the questions, yes to all. Its great when it works and really sucks when it doesn't. Unfortunately it was the latter for me personally, but hopefully others read this and have more positive thoughts, which is why I think this should be on the front page for a while, if at least to get some to appreciate life's lessons.
