Strength is the first word that came to my mind while reading this. and i think i connect to this poem so well because although i don't know the pain you are going through, i understand the abuse and the belittling of myself. This is a simple but effective poem because you don't hold back your feelings what so ever, and that's something i personally love reading.

Years of abuse and belittling have broken you down and reduced you to feeling nothing at all, almost sub human. You were in love with this person and you were going to get married.

You were forced to quit everything you loved because of the feeling of fear and rejection. You lost all of your friends because of it. The weaker you showed him the more pain you would feel inside and out.

It took years but finally you are overcoming what you went through with this person. Whether it be jail time, or just whatever it is.

I love how you call yourself an angel because that is a positive step forward to healing, we are survivors no matter what.

I am glad you got to get this poem out and you are being reborn again. I wouldn't change anything about the poem itself, as to me it flowed well.

You have more strength than you ever thought and your life will only get better. Abusers need to control to feel good about themselves. They will never have the real love or happiness that is comes from genuine love and respect. Congratulations on breaking free and knowing that in the end you won. Well done. Much love Milly x
