The beauty of Sunset

by Sive Klaas   Jul 19, 2021

O Sunset unsympathetic thy absence
Dark it calls upon the foes. And pretence,
morrow you're Sunrise. As folly as you can be
Let not thy Appraisers be; set them free
for beauty can't be compared to thee.
It can't be timed for 'tis what keeps the soul alight.
Whether be in the eye of the beholder, it set all things right.
Thou goest reddens like ochre and cometh nightfall.
O Sunset thou hast cursed nature.
Still your admirers praise you.
But wherefore, I cannot say.
"Maybe beauty needs to be cursed."
But before you cast away
Thou shalt not smite me today.
