    I see and hear you in this piece. Really liked the point about scars and scabs, and the weight of emotional scars, that it's not something we can necessarily see and track the healing process. I feel like, most times, people utter those phrases because they either don't know what else to say or that it's perfunctory to reassure someone, even though we can't know if or when or how it will get better. Nor can we measure someone's grief and/or the time it takes and ways it takes to acknowledge it and work through it. There are times where we just need to be heard, have that pain realized, not almost trivialized by simple sayings that can't accurately or physically do anything in the moment.
