Soup

Eat the soup
Just don’t look
Drink the soup
Try not to chew
Gulp the lumps
Over tongue and tonsils
The texture
The taste it brings
Something familiar
Salty and sweet
Gooey and stodgy
Tickles the throat
A slick and crunchy treat
Finish the soup
Till the bowl is empty
Scrape off the bits that cling
Eat the soup
It’s good for the soul
Healthy and hearty
So warm and airy
Sugar, sodium and dairy
And full of other wonderful things
