you remind me of water
like a calm running river
a reflection of the night sky on your beautiful face.

the moon, your mind
mirroring the bright sun
and the stars, your spots casting a patterned display.

a river is poetic, in that
it always calms after a storm
as you are gentle in spite of your past.
