Dancing Flames

by Walter   Mar 29, 2023

A burning candle gentle flame
Swaying within the air
When I saw you dance tonight
This motion you both share

Your moon lit skin reflects that glow
That attracts me to your blaze
The way you're moving when dancing
Still now you will amaze

And many times I have been warned
To never play with fire
But this flame which you silhouette
Feels more than just desire

I'm drawn close but dare not touch
Though still I feel your heat
I mimic now the way you move
The swaying of our feet

When I look up your eyes catch mine
As if they now reclaim
At once I cannot look away
From your enticing flame

And no more will I resist
My hands to touch your skin
Your burning warmth which is felt
So deeply now within

The candles flame now blows out
From a suffocating spark
Leaves just the warmth from our bodies
Dancing in the dark
