alkaline

there seems to be an unspoken rule between us, a boundary we don't cross. i want to cross that boundary but the world is a cruel place. too cruel to let me share my love for you, with you. but in the sunrise of tomorrow you whispered, “tell me you love me, tell me i’m yours.”

here we both are, dripping into the floor.

for you, my mind will distort into a clump of nerves, blood, and tissue unable to let go of your presence. my body will always sway to your direction in order to bask in the light of your smile, my lips yearning for yours. voice like liquid honey, you whisper me sweet nothings like a siren calling me to you.

so i swim through the sea within my body, dissolving into you.

and in you i find that solace that has evaded me much of my life. in you i find that something, the thing that was never quite there before. we inherited from the skies something greater than could ever be tilled from this earth. limbs growing towards the sunbask of you, golden and warm. tangled and outstretched, the photosynthesis of our hearts.

it is here within the alkaline that i can no longer distinguish the lines between where you begin and where i finish.
