Self Love

by Dino Dhamphyr   Dec 5, 2023

In the midst of your storm, you drenched my parade,
Every opportunity, my name you defamed.
Thought you'd break my spirit, oh woman, indeed,
But tears alone? That's not my creed.

I resisted the urge to pen my thoughts,
Not wanting them to see my innermost spots.
Your shadow loomed, a ghost on my phone,
Yet here I am, standing strong, alone.

Moving forward, singing a new tune,
In this journey of self, I find my boon.
Embracing solitude, a newfound glee,
In this alone space, I find the real me.
Blinded once, lost in deceit's haze,
Missed the truth in your stormy maze.
Now, eyes wide open, seeing the light,
Alone, I find my power, my might.

If the mirror reflects my pride and joy,
Why chase love that's just a ploy?
Holding onto ghosts? That's not my way,
Self-love is my path, here to stay.

You cast shadows, turned me against my crew,
But the real problem, girl, it was always you.
You twisted my words, my thoughts, my soul's hymn,
Made me forget my roots, my origin.

Now, ink flows again, with clarity and might,
Not for you, but for a future bright.
A journey of self, not just a refrain,
Finding love within, free from pain.
Caught in life's spin, I missed my own growth,
But now, clarity dawns, I take the oath.
Reborn in solitude, my spirit takes flight,
In my own company, I find my light.

A new man in the mirror, standing with pride,
No longer needing your manipulative tide.
If self-love is what you seek,
I'm on my path, unique and chic.

Every time you made me feel less,
In self-love, I find my fortress.
Once down, now I soar above,
Beyond your reach, in self-love.

Self-love, a profound, empowering quest,
In its embrace, I find my best.
If you adore only your own reflection,
Seek that path, that direction.
But if you think I'm stuck in the past,
Know self-love in my heart is vast.
