Naturally

by Beautiful Tragedy   Apr 10, 2026

You’re healing a heart you didn’t break,
It comes so naturally to you.
Paint on the canvas of my life that is now smeared with the soft blue and yellow hues of you;
It contrasts with the dark grey and bruised purple my life was before you reminded me that I’m the white.
I can only be stained by whatever color I allow so I choose you.
I see life in pastel now;
Light through the window feels like the world woke up and learned how to hold me gently.
Fleece becomes an option instead of a coping skill and-
Who I am becomes malleable as everything within me grows.
My love for you grows with it as I question how gentle blue eyes and soft brown curls could so easily change my perception of the world.
You’re healing a heart that you didn’t break;
so naturally that I forget it was ever broken at all.
