THE RANCHER AND THE COWBOY PART 2

The rancher and the cowboy went for a little ride,
they rode along the river in the quiet country side,
the days of rustling were over, so they had some time to spare,
their range was all fenced in and the cattle went no where,
the rancher made a basket of chicken and brought along some wine,
the cowboy brought some little cakes he had bought for a dime,
soon they came to a great place, to eat and maybe even swim,
the cowboy ate then rested, he had no suit with him,
even though they were married, he was bashful you see,
the rancher she went swimming, the cowboy waited patiently,
soon evening was upon them, the temperature turned cold,
they headed for the ranch house that was so warm and old,
it took them about two hours of riding to get home,
they made some good hot coffee, and cooked a big t-bone,
they often rode out together, where nothing could disturb them,
they just wanted to be with each other, till they were home again,
their total love for each other was so plain to see,
they knew that it would last till the end of eternity,
they didn't have to say it, the other seemed to know
just what they were going to do, and where they were gonna go,
it came with years of togetherness and thinking of the things to do,
and how they would get them done, there was just those two,
the cowboy rode the fences, rancher cooked the food,
both of them watched the calving, made sure it all went good,
soon their own babies started coming, 3 girls then a boy,
the children made them happy and brought them so much joy,
they raised their children proudly,
raised them with so much love,
those precious years seemed to be heaven
sent from the good lord up above,
still they go riding up to that swimming hole,
the place they had eaten so many years ago.
