The abyss

by Ashley C.   Aug 1, 2004

The loud thunder rolling in from darkened skies
Drowns out the sound of blackened cries
Pouring rain pulsing down
Come lift me up before I drown

My legs are too weak to carry me home
I'm weary and wet, and chilled to the bone
I wandered too fast, too far
To search for you, wherever you are
I see you here, I see you there
So close to my reach, then you disappear

Now I'm lost in the darkest abyss
Trapped in this storm of total emptiness
And between all the tears and all the rain
I can't seem to dry myself from all this pain

I miss you so much, you don't even know
I need you my love, I can't make it out alone
So come capture me now and carry me home
