I thought we had something going,
Something that was real.
I didn't know what it was,
But I loved the way it made me feel.

I soon came to see that it was love,
A love I'd never felt before.
I wanted to let you into my heart,
And lock you inside the door.

You were my only happiness,
I thought you were there to stay.
But I guess that's what I get for thinking,
Because it quickly it went away.

Everything changed so fast,
I guess you changed your mind.
I won't ever get over you,
But I'll learn to deal with the pain over time.
