Saving You

by Morgan   Aug 5, 2004

I lie here wishing for time to pass
As my thoughts are invaded by memories
I could think of anything about you
And I'll be sure you're an angel sent for me

I'll forget the days like they're minutes
Irritated by the emptiness of my life
Silent tears are imprisoned inside
When I think of being your wife

As I remember forgotten words
And feel the hollowness of my chest
I know you and I will never unite
And I believe it will be for the best

My love for you is a never ending fire
Deepened with the words you speak
My love for you inches higher
Climbing to the highest peak

But I will try to dampen that fire
For I must save your soul
Fragile heart break more hearts
Your life doesn't need to be stole

The gentle tone of your voice
And the sweetness you exert
Tells me I should end this before it starts
Before you're in so deep you hurt

I'll take the pain from you
Receiving knowledge that you'll be fine
I know God will bless your heart forever
Even if he cannot bless mine
