It's over now!

by Joe Moore   Aug 7, 2004

All night creeping
When you should be keeping
Your wife's mind at ease
Not on her aching knees
Crying for you

How can you ask?
What's got her so mad?
You know why she's ticked off
You didn't wipe the lipstick off
Or the perfume

Why play these games?
When did things change?
Both of you were so in love
She was all you thought of
Now you're sneaking

Tell her you're not happy
Stop this insanity
Tell her you want to go
You're not in love any more
And tired of cheating

Love is too precious
To mishandle it
Above all others
Keeps the candle lit
Now you got to make
The whole thing right
Cause love can't make it
Right tonight
You got to bring this
To the light

So she can stop crying
And you can stop lying
The love is not the same
She feels so ashamed
For the way you've treated her

You deeply hurt her
And now you need to leave her
It's best for the situation
She can't take the degradation
It's killing her

She called me last week
Barely able to speak
Sobbing in the phone
Hurt cause she's all alone
Over missing you

You're never home and
Now she going out on her own
No more painful nights
No more hurtful fights
No caring of what you do

Love is too precious
To mishandle it
Above all others
Keeps the candle lit
Now you got to make
The whole thing right
Cause love can't make it
Right tonight
You got to bring this
To the light

You don't care any more
Always running out the door
No more questions to ask
No more wondering if you'll last
It's over now

She wants you to know
That she loves you so
And hates to let you go
But tired of asking how
You could betray your vow

Love is too precious
To mishandle it
Above all others
Keeps the candle lit
Now you got to make
The whole thing right
Cause love can't make it
Right tonight
You got to bring this
To the light
