The Girl Who Couldn't Love

by Morgan   Aug 9, 2004

I once knew this girl
She never let anyone in
Telling all the cut guys off
She didn't wish to love again

Her heart was shattered
And she wouldn't try to befriend
She didn't want the pain
For in the past, she'd fallen for a friend

She had given all she had
Letting the person know how she felt
The person broke her heart
And the pain wouldn't melt

She couldn't seem to love
To show anyone she could care
She have built a million walls
Walls that would forever be there

But after a while of playing it safe
She let a few people in
And she felt okay for a bit
Till the pain came back again

But she still had those friends
The ones that climbed those walls
They helped her overcome
When her friend made her fall

Even still, she couldn't love
She felt it was too big a jump
She didn't mind because she had friends
But along the road there was a bump

Again she fell for a friend
And all her insecurities came out
She told him she couldn't love
But he didn't ask what it was about

All he did was love her
Till the very end
He let her know it was okay
To love a friend

This girl still has insecurities
But he helps her through
And even though it's tough
I know I'll always love you
