I WANDER, I WONDER

by Harry Bryant   Aug 16, 2004

I WANDER, I WONDER

I wander alone,
no one for my own,
I wander along,
no place I belong,
I wander, I wander, I wander,

I wander the east, I wander the west,
I wander until I have to rest,
I wander the south, I wander the north,
I will just keep on, wandering forth,
I wander, I wander, I wander,

do I have to wander all of my life?,
or will I someday, find me a wife?,
will I have children, to rear and to raise?,
wonderful kids, I can give them my praise,
I wonder, I wonder, I wonder,

the days are so lonely without anyone,
and the nights are lonelier still,
never, no laughter, never, no fun,
never a moment to share a thrill,
I wander, I wonder, I wander,

oh GOD up in heaven, I know that you care,
where ever I wander, your always there,
I am just a nomad, wandering around,
sometimes on the ocean, sometimes on the ground,
I wander, I wander, I wander

my mind is always wondering too,
wondering if I will ever run into you,
wondering just how you are getting along,
is your life filled with sorrow, or is it filled with song,
I wonder, I wonder, I wonder

when my life is all over, and your life is too,
can I wander the heavens and wander with you,
we can wander to Venus, we can wander to Mars,
we can wander the planets, then wander the stars,
I wonder, we wander, I wonder.
