OUT OF TOWN

OUT OF TOWN

My baby was out of town for a day or two,
that I wasn\'t with her made me so blue,
I had to go riding, to unclutter my mind,
just looking at nature and all I could find,
I went to a valley where we always went,
thinking of all the days we had spent,
just being together was heaven devine,
I harkened back, to when she said she was mine,
how happy it made me, I felt like a king,
I went right out and bought her a ring,
for the ring finger of her left hand,
this wasn\'t a castle built in the sand,
it was a love solid, built out of steel,
our love for each other was so very real,
when I got back, the phone it was ringing,
I picked up the receiver my heart was singing,
it was my baby there on the phone,
she wanted to tell me she was on her way home,
she didnt like us being apart,
the words were so sweet, they went straight to my heart,
now my heart is happy and it feels so light,
I know my baby will be home tonight.
