Could someone tell me what went wrong
to make you throw it all away
What we had felt so strong
but it seems you have gone astray

Why can't you tell me what exactly you are thinking
inside your head that is so jumbled
perhaps it was your drinking
That caused our love to crumble

I still want to be with you more than ever
I can't imagine us apart
I'm willing to work through whatever
to help us make a new start

Can you please have mercy on my broken soul
and let me have you for keeps
Or was that the ultimate goal
