My father

by mari   Sep 4, 2004

I remember camping with my family in Peninsula State Park

i remember going hiking on the trails with my dad

i remember him rushing my to the hospital after I slipped up our porch and bit the sides of my tongue open

i remember him making me practice my serves for volleyball until the sun set

i remember our loud 4th of July parties and water balloon fights in the summer

I remember slowly drifting away from him

i remember the hurtful words we both spoke

i remember us not speaking for weeks at a time

i remember my best friend

i remember my father
