Pretending

by Jessie   Sep 17, 2004

I've reached a point in my life where I realized that everything I lived for is gone,
Without you my heart is broken, bruised and battered,
I'm unable to move on.

You were my light,
The only bright part of my life,
And now that your gone,
My heart is full of pain and strife.

You were always there when I needed you,
To be both a lover and a friend,
Now that I lost you,
I just wish my life would come to an end.

You listened, You were always there,
For once in my life it felt as though someone truly DID care.
You stood by my side through all the smiles and all the tears,
You comforted me,
Protected me from my fears.

I gave you my heart,
I gave you my soul,
You were the one thing in my life that made me whole.

And now that your gone,
My heart just isn't mending.
I can't live without you,
So why bother pretending?
