Thanks for smiling in the morning,
And brightening up my day,
When I’m down its all I need,
I’ll return the favour some way.

For life is one big journey,
From beginning to the end,
And I want you to know that,
I’ll be there as your friend.

If you need someone to hold your hand,
Or a hug to show I care,
If you need a shoulder to cry on,
You know that I’ll be there.

If it’s just a simple smile,
Or a nod to say hello,
I want you to see,
The respect I like to show.

If you’re ever feeling sad,
Please know that I am here,
I will stay there with you,
Until your final tear.

And when the time comes,
For one of us to go away,
The other one will wonder,
Why they could not stay.

And when that happens,
I will not be able to sleep,
I will not be as happy,
But the memories I will keep.

For it’s the friendship you give,
That keeps my day from being blue,
And all I want you to know,
