A Letter as a Poem

by Tara J Laboucan   Oct 14, 2004

I’m writing you this letter
Not knowing where it’ll lead
But I had to let you know
What I felt about you and me
Pleas keep this in mind
I’m not sure of how you feel
So if I say something wrong
Please let me know what is real
I have loved you from the start
Though I never knew what to say
I guess I was just scared you’d turn the other away
But now that I’m revealing exactly how I feel
It’s time that you should know
That to me, you and me are real
I didn’t want to tell you
Because I didn’t know what you would say
And I didn’t want to be pushed away
I’ve had these feelings for you
Yet I know they’ve never seem to show
But I’ll try my best to show you now
Because it’s time that you should know
You make my life a life of dreams
because ever now and then
i know your not here
You make my life feel so complete
though it would be best if you were near
You make my life worth living for
It’s you that I need
I’ve tried my best to tell you
That I have truly loved you from the start
My feelings for you have always been the same
They’ve just grown stronger, since we’ve been apart
I knew it in my heart
So if you wanted to know, you are the one for me
And that no one will ever take your place
I never needed another’s hand to hold
I never needed another’s lips to kiss
I never needed another’s hug to feel
Though I’ve tried to fill that void
But the love I have for you I cannot be replaced
So, now that I have told you
part of how i feel
Though words won’t tell it all
Neither will feelings
Because my love for you is so much more
Then letters and written with an ink filed pen
There’s a deeper meaning to it all
And I know for sure
That the love I have for you is pure
I know now that if you died
My heart would never find a cure
If I fail to succeed
My find to explain the perfect words of love
To you, then in heaven of hell
Is where I swear to proceed…
