Can't Get Over Her

by John Holley   Oct 26, 2004

I love the way we used to kiss
And the way she held my hand
I never thought I'd be saying this
But I wish I was still her man
To see her with another guy
Hurts me deep inside
Every time I wanted to cry
But can't because of my pride
She acts as if we never were
And I'm just in her past
I wish I felt the same for her
But no, my love still lasts
I smile whenever she's around
And act like I'm okay
But inside I'm going down
I can't take another day
The way I feel is still the same
But I will never show it
And really I'm the one to blame
But I won't let her know it

This is so sad and beautiful at the same time. unrequited love sucks and i think during out lifetime we all go through it. this poem also great diction, rythm and flow. i really like the two lines, "Every time I wanted to cry
But can't because of my pride" because it made me just want to give you a big hug. i love guys who can be honest and this poem is just that. tc, xmollyxx
