A Million Miles Away

How can someone that's so close seem so far away,
When for so long they have been beside you every day.
And yet you find your all alone though there are those around,
And through all of the conversation do not make a sound.
You long to reach out for that hand you've held on to so long,
And where you once found comfort you feel now you don't belong.
Knowing I love her; also that those words I cannot say,
Makes the person right beside me seem a million miles away.
