We've been friends for quite a while
And always knew what made each other smile
Our friendship grew because we fell apart
Which made us see the real secret in each one's heart
Our bonding made the world seem easy
And all at once it was hard too
There were times when I felt like I could've fallen
But you would always seem to catch me
Our troubles made us seem like unlikable people
But for some reason they helped everything grow
When we were together there were times of anger
But the puzzle pieces never stay unsolved
Now we look back and laugh at our problems
Which sometimes reappear
But now I see our problems as a guide to connection
Because if we didn't work through our problems
We wouldn't have became as close as we are now
So I just thank everyday of us being together
And just simply being best friends
Because that's what counts the most
